Berseem Clover

Berseem clover is an annual upright-growing, non-creeping clover that can reach 1-2' in height. It produces small white, to pale yellow flowers and has a fibrous root system. This is a frost sensitive crop that tolerates wet conditions but prefers well-drained soils and is not drought-tolerant. Berseem Clover can add substantial amounts of nitrogen to the soil, improving soil fertility and organic matter, enhancing soil health for future plantings. It is commonly used for grazing, hay, or silage, particularly for dairy cows, sheep, and goats due to having a low risk for bloat. It has a high protein content, digestibility, and palatability.
